Background
New York actor, Louis Wood, returns to his home town for a visit,
stopping in to say hello to the Harbor Island Community
Theatre. There, he's coerced into staying for a longer period than
anticipated directing & starring in their own original musical
adaptation of Anton Chekhov's The Seagull.
Birds of Paradise is a sweet story both funny and
poignant with a terrific musical score by David Evans and
Winnie Holzman. It's a story that will appeal to anyone who's done
community theater, or anyone familiar with Chekhov's The
Seagull or anyone who's ever dreamed of being something
more than they are.
